The National Transport and Safety Authority NTSA has revoked Nicco Movers 1 Sacco operating license after the recent incident in which a KMTC student named Eugene Mutuku died after being thrown out of a moving Nicco bus along Thika road.

In a statement issued by NTSA on Friday, the Authority said it conducted a comprehensive assessment was conducted on the compliance and safety standards of the company which exposed serious operational and management shortcomings.

This orms part of the ongoing investigations of the incident in which a KMTC student Eugene Mutuku died as a result of being thrown out of a moving vehicle along Thika road.

"The authority conducted a thorough assessment of the operator safety practices and compliance status" read part of the statement.

The authority noted that the Sacco lacks safety protocols and has failed to demonstrate any efforts to address safety concerns.

The Authority further noted that vehicles operating under the Sacco are unsafe and pose a danger to other road users.

As a result of these findings the Authority resolved to revoking the operating license and to cease all its operations with immediate effect.

The Authority directed law enforcement agencies to impound any vehicle operating under the Nicco Movers 1 Sacco that will be found operating against the revocation of the operating license.
