ICT Authority recovers hacked president website

The ICT Authority is making key progress in recovery if the presidential website under the domain president.go.ke.
This comes hours after the president's website was hacked by cyber criminals resulting to defacing it's homepage and demanding for ransom before restoring the website to its original design.
The attackers further threatened to leak critical government of Kenya information if their demand for the ransom was not obeyed.
They gave the government upto 6pm of July 18, 2026 to heed to their demands before they go on to do the unthinkable.
The ministry of information communication and digital economy swung to action in hurry to recover the important digital asset and by the time of publishing this information, ICT Authority says they have the website in their control as they works towards restoring it to the public.
The Authority as well informs the public wishing to access tenders to check on an alternative address tenders.go.ke.
